To me, the way in which the GLBT community is treated is a sign that the church is a pile of crap, not that God is a jerk. I must admit, though, that since leaving Mormonism, I've become Agnostic and always preface my remarks about God with "if there is one" as you commented. I hope there is a God, and that there is an Afterlife, but I'm not convinced there is... or isn't. I hope your husband is able to work through this phase quickly. It must be agonizing to feel the way he is feeling, and for you to watch him going through this.Diane Tingenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11233557863633027893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-66699852588327563.post-4335677620461501012011-06-11T16:19:34.444-05:002011-06-11T16:19:34.444-05:00This breaks my heart. Whenever I think there might be a detectable trend toward tolerance, another extremist counter-trend seems to emerge. Humans worry me so.Nancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15166865250789996825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-66699852588327563.post-63298593123354486542011-06-10T23:12:15.298-05:002011-06-10T23:12:15.298-05:00A god who hates him is not worthy of his belief, l...A god who hates him is not worthy of his belief, let alone his worship.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-66699852588327563.post-62674754847328521822011-06-10T13:08:42.887-05:002011-06-10T13:08:42.887-05:00Funny how his point of reference is that the churc...Funny how his point of reference is that the church is right, rather than that God is kind and loving. If you start from the first and see the church's actions, then you have to assume that God is a jerk. But if you start from the second and see the church's actions, then you conclude that the church is not led by God.Carla Schmidt Hollowayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12947846629735463824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-66699852588327563.post-41918423402808592492011-06-10T12:56:03.952-05:002011-06-10T12:56:03.952-05:00I agree with Donna.
